How do I apply for federal financial aid?
When you apply for admission to Capella University, you can also complete our online financial aid application. We will show you, step by step, how to be considered for federal financial aid as well as other aid awards.
How is my federal financial award determined?
A federal financial aid award is based on the estimated costs of your academic program. Starting with the estimated cost of attendance (including tuition and other costs), the Office of Financial Aid subtracts your expected family contribution to determine your financial need. This will determine your possible eligibility for need-based federal aid, including subsidized loans and need-based grants. To the extent that the total need-based aid award is less than your total cost of attendance, you would be considered for unsubsidized loans
